Child Supplement
The child supplement is a social benefit that low-income families can apply for in addition to child benefit. The Family Benefits Office NRW East is responsible for child benefit applications. As a rule, you cannot receive the child supplement at the same time as basic income support.

Application is mandatory
If you have received a notice to apply for the child supplement, you must do so immediately. You are required to apply.
You received this notice because you may be eligible for higher financial support through the child supplement than through the citizen’s income.
Notify the Job Center immediately if you have applied for the child supplement.
