Education and Participation

Education and participation benefits are often referred to as the “education package.” Here’s what’s included in the education package:

Culture, Sports, Participation: Children in need should not be excluded from leisure activities but should be able to participate in sports, games, or cultural activities. For example, membership fees for a soccer club may be covered by the Jobcenter.

School Supplies: Additional cash benefits are provided at the beginning of the school year and at the start of the second semester to cover students’ personal school supplies—such as writing, math, and art materials—as well as athletic clothing and general equipment like backpacks and pencil cases.

Field Trips: To ensure that children in need are provided with the necessary learning materials, a subsidy is paid to the children. In addition, the costs of one-day field trips organized by schools and daycare centers are covered. Multi-day class trips, as defined by school regulations, are also covered upon confirmation by the school.

Learning Support: Students in need can receive learning support. This is contingent on the school confirming the need and there being no comparable educational programs available.

Lunch at Daycare, School, After-School Care, or Day Care Centers: A subsidy for communal lunch is available if the daycare, school, or after-school care center offers such a program.
