Relocation
Moving is not only stressful, but also expensive. In principle, you are responsible for organizing your own move with the help of relatives and friends.
If you are receiving benefits and the necessity of your move has been recognized in advance by the Jobcenter, certain costs may be covered.
You can receive comprehensive advice on the subject of moving in a personal consultation. Please call our service number to arrange an appointment.
You should only sign a new lease once your case worker has given you confirmation that your desired move is approved. You will only receive confirmation if you can provide a reason that justifies the move and you have found a new, suitable apartment.
Note
Even if you are in the so-called waiting period, we can only give you a guarantee for relocation if the accommodation costs are reasonable.
The rule that the actual costs of accommodation are covered during the waiting period, even if these are unreasonable, only applies to apartments that were already occupied before the application was submitted (existing apartments).
Further answers on the subject of moving can be found in the FAQ – Moving.
