Electricity disconnection
As a general rule, you must pay your electricity bills from your monthly basic benefit. If you are in an emergency situation and have already been threatened with disconnection of your electricity supply, or if your electricity has already been cut off, you can apply for a loan.
A loan can only be granted to individuals who are also entitled to monthly basic income support.
Apply for a loan
Before applying for a loan, you must first try to arrange an installment plan with your electricity provider. Only if the installment plan is denied may you apply for a loan.
To do so, you will need: the application form, a current statement of account from your electricity provider (no older than 5 days), the disconnection notice, and proof that payment in installments is not possible.
