People with disabilities
People with disabilities are disproportionately affected by long-term unemployment. For this reason, the Hagen Job Center has a team of specialized professionals who provide individualized and tailored support, training, and placement services for people with disabilities or equal opportunities and rehabilitation.
This is because people with disabilities have to compete with people without disabilities for new jobs and are often at a disadvantage. Too many companies still assume that they are less capable than people without disabilities.
Here is a brief overview:
Main application
Trial employment pursuant to Section 46 of SGB III
Trial employment is a benefit that can be used to support employers in hiring people with disabilities and persons of equivalent status.
For up to three months, companies can be reimbursed for the costs of temporary trial employment of disabled, severely disabled, and equivalent persons.
Trial employment is intended to make the transition to working life easier for people with disabilities. During the trial employment period, you as an employer and the employee can get to know each other at your leisure and see whether you can imagine working together on a permanent basis. This gives you the opportunity to find a suitable employee for your company without any risk.
Our Job Center's Rehab/SB team is available to answer any questions you may have.
Employment relationship
As a rule, the trial employment lasts up to three months.
During the trial period, the employment relationship is subject to social security contributions. This means that wages or salary are paid.
Supported employment
Supported employment is a service for people undergoing vocational rehabilitation and people with disabilities who have special support needs. This service comes into play when other options for promoting integration into work, vocational preparation, vocational training, or continuing education do not appear to be feasible.
The target group includes:
- People with disabilities ranging from learning disabilities to intellectual disabilities
- People with mental impairments and/or behavioral problems.
Integration subsidy (EGZ-SB)
Despite intensive efforts, it is not always possible to find a job. As an employer, you can receive financial support for people with disabilities as soon as you hire someone who receives citizen's income from the Hagen Job Center. The new employee may not meet your requirements 100%, but the Job Center can compensate for the shortfall with an integration subsidy.
The amount and duration of the subsidy is always decided on an individual basis. The subsidy period can be up to 60 months and can cover up to 70% of the employee's salary.
People with a severe disability or persons of equivalent status who have reached the age of 55 can even receive subsidies for up to 96 months.
It is important that you, as the employer, apply for the integration subsidy before the employee starts work.
Your team of rehabilitation/SB specialists is of course available to answer any questions you may have.
Internship (MAG)
Selecting suitable employees for your own company is often difficult. Give people with disabilities a chance.
As part of this practical trial, you can test the suitability and motivation of a person with a disability without obligation and see for yourself what they are capable of. There are no costs involved; you simply inform your accident insurance provider.
Company measures can also support orientation on the job market.
If you are interested in conducting a workplace trial or are looking for suitable employees, please contact us and we will be happy to advise you.
Subsidies for setting up a disability-friendly workplace or training facility
Subsidies are available for the adaptation of training and workplaces to meet the needs of people with disabilities, insofar as this is necessary to achieve or secure long-term participation in working life. The prerequisite is that there is no legal obligation on the part of employers to finance this.
Funding is available for all work equipment necessary for the disability-friendly design of the workplace, e.g., PC systems for blind and visually impaired people or special office chairs. Furthermore, costs for the design of barrier-free access to the working environment, such as the installation of a disabled toilet or the construction of ramps for wheelchairs, can also be subsidized.
Funding can cover up to 100% of the costs. Funding is available for the procurement, maintenance, and servicing of all measures, as well as for adapting work equipment to the latest technology. If training in the use of a technical aid is necessary, this can also be funded.
As an employer, you are responsible for submitting the application. Please contact our special team for people with disabilities: the Rehabilitation Team at the Employment Agency.
