You can find the most common questions and answers on the topic of Job Center programs (e.g., job applicant training or 1-euro jobs) here.

What is a measure at an agency (MAT)?

Do you need help preparing your application materials?
Would you like to know which careers you’re best suited for?
Would you like to gain practical experience with an employer but are having trouble finding a suitable company?

The Job Center offers tailored assistance for these and many other topics as part of a program—please feel free to speak with your integration specialist.

What is a measure taken by an employer (MAG)?

Would you like to see if a job or an employer is a good fit for you?
We’d be happy to determine whether we can support a trial period with an employer for a reasonable amount of time, including by covering travel expenses if necessary. In this case, you’ll also receive a certificate from us confirming that we’ve approved the arrangement with the employer, which you can present in the event of an inspection or if the employer’s accident insurance requires it.

Please contact your integration specialist well in advance of your start date.

What is a work opportunity (AGH) / 1-euro job?

A so-called “1-euro job” is a work opportunity (AGH) that provides compensation for additional expenses.

For the long-term unemployed who are still unable to find regular work, AGH positions offer the opportunity to engage in community service. The work is in the public interest; for example, it may involve working in a social department store or as an additional support staff member in long-term care facilities.

Working Hours & Expense Reimbursement

The maximum working hours for this position are 30 hours per week. Participants receive an expense allowance of 2 euros per hour in addition to their basic income support.
