Citizen's income must be applied for. If you have never received citizen's income before, you must submit a new application. If you have already received citizen's income within the last 6 months and, after a short interruption, are now dependent on these benefits again, please submit an application for continued approval.
If you would like to apply for benefits under SGB II / citizen's income, you can come to us without an appointment. Please bring a valid ID document, your current resume, and a current cover letter with you.
We will then give you the "Application for citizen's income" form.
We will provide you with at least the following documents:

- Appendix KdU (costs for accommodation and heating)
- Appendix EK (Income)
- Appendix VM (Assets)

Due to personal or family circumstances, additional application forms may be necessary, e.g. if you or a family member are self-employed, if there are maintenance claims, or if additional needs can be claimed.
You can also submit your application online.
Our recommendation
However, this does not replace a personal interview, as your identity must be verified in a personal interview. We therefore recommend that you submit your application in person.
For the initial interview, you will need a valid ID document to prove your identity. If there are other people living in your family, we recommend that you bring the ID documents or birth certificates of your partner and children with you.
If you are a foreign national, we also require your valid residence permit.
If you do not have a sufficient understanding of the German language, please bring an interpreter with you to the interview.
